A couple days ago, Mel and I brought home a puppy. I have my reasons, but I’m too tired to think of them. Potty training is hard. Crate training is hard. Helping an 8 week old puppy adjust to a new environment is hard. Neither one of us have slept much, but thank you Mel for taking early morning shifts so I could get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep.
I’m a firm believer cuddles are very important for a baby taken away from her momma, so we have been doing that in between potty outings. I’ll get more serious about the crate training in a couple days when we’re familiar and comfortable with each other. In my experience, early onset anxiety with puppies is long-lasting.
How does the saying go: all good things require patience and hard work, or something like that? Sleepless nights will pass, potty training will happen, and everyone will soon adjust to this new life.
The hard work will be worth it. In the meantime, I have about the sweetest little blue German shepherd baby that exists. Since I’m too tired to blog properly, I’ll post some more photos. Enjoy our new Cloverbud.
